New Orleans own Bruce Brice was the first commissioned artist to present the official poster for the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival.

As written in the 1972 souvenir booklet,

"One of the most unusual aspects of the fair is the tent containing an exhibition of the work of the young black New Orleans' painter, Bruce Brice. His wall murals in the Treme section of the city are now local landmarks."

Brice began his career as a puppeteer, in the sixth grade. Charging penny admissions to shows, he produced them in the hallways of the housing project where he lived. People and New Orleans are his favorite subjects. Wherever you see a Bruce Brice painting, you see people interacting, a social awareness, and a documentary.

Transending to finer details and use of bright colors, Bruce captures many festive events through his many unique works of art. From Mardi Gras to Jazz Festival, from second lining to Mardi Gras Indian's, Bruce's art portrays celebration.

Bruce Brice has become one of New Orleans' most respected folk artists and has worldwide exposure. His works encompass a wide range of cultural, folk art including many limited edition prints.
